FACTORY VISIT ANYONE?
by Ed Case on Sun Oct 04, 2009 7:32 pm
A mate of mine (yes, I have a few) who is a part of a vintage motorcycle racing family & who works for a medium sized but very busy carbon fibre fabrication company in the Vale of Belvoir, Leicestershire has asked me to inform the membership that any small group who would like to tour the factory would be very welcome (no charge). Amongst many of the things they make are F1 racing car bodies, boats, some bike parts & many things connected with the world of motor racing etc. The whole process takes place at the premises from concept to manufacture.
He has also offered to arrange a similar type of trip to an aluminium & metal beater who also makes car & motorcycles parts & who will demonstrate the skill of 'metal bashing'. I believe this is situated in the Peterborough area but I will confirm this. However, if any branch or group is interested in principle in such visits then please leave a message here or pm me in the first instance & if there is sufficient interest I will see what can be arranged with the where & when and so on.

Would anyone be interested? if so leave a comment here, if enough show an interest I'll contact Ed and get something arranged _________________ 2003 Pan European ABS in super fast Red
There is a company in Northampton that do the carbon fibre thing. I've only actually been able to "glimps" what goes on there, a fulll tour would be brilliant,
