Sue and I rode over 1500 trouble-free miles on a 10 day trip to the West coast of Ireland. We had to keep the wet=weather kit handy as the showers appeared quickly as did the rapidly changing road conditions from brand-new nice flat tarmac to pretty uneven roads turning the bikes into a bucking-bronco's. Some v. narrow tracks with gravel, grass and whopping potholes were also encountered here and there through beautiful mountain passes! All the roads were quiet, though the driving standards variable.
Memorable moments include wheel spinning on horse poo on the Gap of Dunloe, much longer evenings, music & banter in the pubs, and a warm welcome from everyone we met and genuine interest in the bikes = which there seemed to be a distinctive lack of!
We have quite a few maps, a touring guide, etc which we would be glad to lend to any HOC members planning to pop over.
( £55 per bike & rider for either of the 2 hour crossings Fishguard to Rosslare, or Dun Laogharie to Holyhead ).
Anyone wanting tom suffer our holiday photo's , we could bring them on Wednesday..........!
