Bonny and I were returning from a super day in Cromer on Sunday evening.....We were about 10 miles away from Kings Lynne and I was riding at about 80 mph... I was hit head on the helmet by a pigeon....At the time I had no idea what it was..I was covered in blood and feathers.... The impact tore the visor off the helmet and broke the internal tinted visor. The forehead part of the helmet is cracked....This is my NEW SCHUBERTH J1 lid !!!!!...I managed to stay upright and after gathering my senses walked back to find the visor which is also broken...at the time I thought that it could be repaired. I have a stiff neck and have had to fork out £350 for a new lid, but it could have been much worse....I dread to think what would have happened if I had been wearing the old Caeberg Downtown...  Anyway i'm here to tell the tale and I was pleased with my initial reaction and keeping it upright. Has any one else suffered the same ????
The lid was less than a month old and I had all the Autocom headset fitted...... How much is a new head ?!! Razz  Razz  Very Happy  Twisted Evil

so glad you and Bonny are ok:D  - be sure to get your neck checked out - you might've chipped or torn something!  Shocked  (other than your lid)

Well done on keeping the bike upright too! Must've been a hell of a shock!  Stupid pigeons!  Rolling Eyes

Perhaps you need to get a scarecrow stuck to the top of your next lid?  Wink

Glad you're ok Phil.

But could you pop over here sometime? We have pigeons that need culling, and the neighbours get upset if I loose off the twelve bore over their gardens.  Very Happy
