Another Stolen Bike

Jason has now had his bike stolen from home.
It is a CBR1000FJ
Reg is F743 TGL
It was taken on Saturday morning about 5am.
Stritchy

C'mon guys........ time to buy an FOAD chain and lock!  Sad
Take a look at www.hoc.org.uk/links and select a make. You may find the one that you want has an HOC discount too.

It's probably the same 'gang' with the van.
Whereabout's was it stolen from?
What are the police doing about it?  Evil or Very Mad
Vampira

Stolen from Roade outside his house, I suppose the Police are looking into it!!!!!
He had only got it back on the Friday after being off the road for a while.
CB Honda

Bad news.

Agree with Stritchy though, a really good lock and chain (although not cheap) is a good deterrent and will slow down the thiefs maybe long enough for the alarm to be raised.

Little consolation, I know, after the event  Sad
THE CAT

Crying or Very sad That is just such rotten luck and I know it was doing his head in having it off the road.

I know they say a lock may help but I know a mate of mine that had a very heavy old bike and they just lifted the bike with the lock and all into the back of a van.

Its so frustrating  Mad

Sue if you see Jason tonight send him my best wishes and I hope they catch the b@$*@#~$.
Vampira

Will do Ruth, he said he would come along tonight.
Don't think there is any deterrent for the b*****ds who steal these bikes. They have no respect for how the bikes are handled either.
FallenAngel

with both of ours chains were used. i dont know how much of a deterrent they are, but not much by the looks of it, as they managed to carry Scott's bird... and that ain't easy!!! and they also broke the steering lock, so i would reccomend a ground anchor, half a dozen chains and locks, and an alarm! Scott has invested in a bike alarm which is a motion sensor from ebay, in anticipation of getting a new bike, it cost £15 all in, and we have played with it. It seems to work well, and comes with a 'blip' keyring to make it easy to turn on and off. Highly reccomended for those of us who cant afford a £300 datatool one.
Deputy Dawg

nother bike gone monday from a garage, opened it with only damage 2 lock.carried over car n gone. nobody heard a thing. they even closed it so he didnt notice 4 2days.
Vampira

Whose bike this time Scott?
FallenAngel

It was a friend from Scott's work, a green Ninja 9. They recon its a local guy thats organising it, and getting other people to do his dirty work so it cant be traced to the lovely individual...
CB Honda

I agree that the bikes are probably being stolen to order and not just randomly taken.

We've just all got to make it as difficult as possible for these scumbags to stop ruining our lives.
FallenAngel

well here's a cheeky one for you. Scott has been told of a local guy who had his bike ground anchored with the back wheel, and in order to get his bike, they removed the rear wheel, but took the sprocket with them, and carried the bike off with only one wheel... Now if thats not pre-medetated i dont know what is!!!

and as it turned out, I had every right to be...

Last night around 1.00am, 3 scrotes jemmied their way into my garage.

Fortunately, the alarm I fitted at the weekend scared them off, and they left empty handed.

However, I then had to take the day off to repair the damage they'd caused. Not cheap, but at least I still have everything, for now.....

I'm pretty sure it was planned, as they entered the close by removing a neighbours fence panels, rather than coming down the road. Doubtless they planned to exit via the same route.

I reported it to the Police, who weren't really interested, as there were no injuries, and no losses. SOCO may call me in a couple of days, but it's up to them, and not me...

It seems that there's a fair bit of bike theft about at the moment, so maybe we should all take another look at security.

Unfortunately, I had other peoples losses to thank for spurring me into action.

Stay safe people.

I've also posted this as a new topic for those who weren't watching this one.
