New GPI recently went to see my new GP. And after two visits and extensive lab tests, he said that I was doing "fairly well" for a man of my age. A little concerned about his comments, I couldn't resist asking him "Do you think I will live until I am 80?"
He asked "Do you smoke or drink?"
"Oh no" I replied, "I don't do that or drugs either"
"Do you eat steaks and barbeque ribs?" he enquired.
"No, my former GP said that meat was very unhealthy" I proudly replied.
"Do you spend a lot of time in the sun, like sailing, cycling, rock-climbing?" he asked
"Oh no, I don't" I said
"Do you ride fast motorbikes or have wild sex?
"No" I said
And he looked at me quite sternly and said "With your lifestyle, why you even give a shit?"
