So near and yet so very farWell, after all the hard work of additional lessons getting the U turn right, I did my test and failed on forgetting to signal left off a roundabout. All the hard stuff was fine..... aaaaaggggghhhhh...
So now I have another test in April in the wilds of Kettering. Anyone with any tips about what to be wary of, I would be very grateful as I do not know the area at all.
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you guys on Wednesday night and look forward to being a fully fledged member in all senses very soon.

Did my test in Kettering. Its fairly short, the majority is on stamford road as this has a 30, 40 and national speed limit and 2 pedestrian crossings. Into one of the surrounding housing estates to do your set pieces and the rest is slow riding on one of Ketterings roads to nowhere through the congested town centre

. . . . Pot holes, manhole covers, pensioners in cars, taxis without indicators and people not knowing what a yellow hatched box means at traffic lights

Thanks eachMany thanks for your commiserations and helpful tips. I was even more gutted as I drove around South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire on Saturday in my (Honda) car with the sunshine beaming down and watched the MANY bikers zipping about....... sniff..... sob

PS I will have to get my own log in now I am a member - watch this space.....

sorry to hear the news but you'll pass next time I'm sure!
It'll be ace when you do!
As for the test - when I took mine the second time (having failed first time on U turn) it was in Bletchley and I'd never been there before and actually, in a strange way, I think it meant I was far more aware of things because I couldn't pre-empt anything so you may find taking it in Kettering is a bonus too!
Shame to fail on not signalling though - bit harsh that!
Roll on April eh!!
Hopefully see you and Sue & Dick again sometime very soon.
