They don't sell these in Lidls..........Schuberth C3 flip upTired of waiting for new stock in white I rushed over to Hein Gericke in Northampton to scoop up the gloss black one in my size.
Just goes to show that you gets what you pays for. An instant improvement over my £99 HJC, as should be expected I suppose. Immediately upon setting off the wind roar was noticeably quieter, then in traffic you notice an increased vision splay from the wider visor aperture and can see traffic out of the corner of your eye. Up to speed and wind turbulence or gusts make no difference at all, no more sudden head bobs. There is some wind noise but noise is low. The helmet is very light by comparison to what I am used too – you do not notice it is there. The ventilation works properly too, the dreaded sudden misting up of spectacles as the speed drops to walking pace is gone so no more constant visor raising at every roundabout or town.
The helmet shell is small in comparison, down from size 62 HJC to 58 Schuberth and the helmet profile is smaller too. The strap is connected by means of the plastic ribbed band arrangement you see on ski boots, which in this case goes through a snap shut fastener with a downward pull tab to release. Very funky. The drop down internal tinted visor is in a pleasant neutral grey and does not foul spectacles.
All in all a very nice product that works, well done Mr Schumacher !

I just tried out the very same lid today down at Pure Triumph, I agree a very nice lid in all aspects, although the price is a bit prohibiting for me at the moment.

Oh yes! ..... as a certain annoying little dog would say
Having a 'meat head' I am very limited to what fits my bonce.
Shark and Schuberth are the only 2. The Shark is ok but nips the forehead a bit if I wear it all day, but the Schuberth is the 'daddy of them all'

Ruth and I both have the C2 and very nice they are too.
However, my old C1 was better because there was lots of chin room, the C2 feels very close after that.
Schuberths are expensive, but worth it for comfort and fit - if you have a Schuey shaped head

Schuberth C3 priceThe helmet was £449 less 10 %
I agree the chin bar is a very close fit especially with the flexible spoiler that goes under the chin. You cannot do the one handed flip shut with this helmet as the spoiler snags the chin, it needs to be levered over a bit. Maybe it will ease with use but it is worth it for the quiet ride.

RTFM - Read The F------ Manual..............Just discovered that the under chin spoiler material is velcro attached and is easy to remove. Also that the visor can snap shut over a clip.
Now the helmet is spookily quiet, external noise sounds like wind outside the house.......
